It really depends on what you get. I do car work all the time and have a list of stores to call for certain things. Advanced Auto Parts, and Auto Zone are usually the best. I will tell you, that i dnt like to buy the cheapest parts though. Ill buy name brand at the lowest i can get them. Cause cheap no name parts don’t last long and could cause major issues in the future for your car, maybe even safety.

For the highest quality professional parts, http://www.RockAuto.com delivers to your door at the lowest prices I’ve seen in many cases for comparable name brand auto parts. You may not pay any tax, but you will have to pay shipping. Think of the gas and time you’ll save not running around to get the parts. However, make darn sure you know the part you order is right for your make year model and VIN number.

Autozone usually has the best regular everyday prices and better stock than Advance Auto parts, but on some parts Advance is a little lower at regular price.
However, for over a year now Advance has had dollar off coupons which can save up to 40% off most items excluding things like oil, making them by far the cheapest. You can find these coupon codes at various Bargain Shopper type websites like Fatwallet.com in their Hot Deals category by searching for Advance or the master coupon thread near the top of their webpage.
Advance also offers discount coupons on their website but for lesser savings than the coupon codes you find on 3rd party sites for Advance.
One last thing – keep in mind that some parts with different prices are different quality and/or have different warranty periods. For example half the things I’ve bought from Auto Zone have a lifetime warranty, but it’s important to keep the receipt as some things stopped having lifetime warranty and I needed the receipt to prove I bought an item when it did have lifetime warranty, like gas hood struts.

Try www.miparts.com, too. Most parts sold on this store are cheaper than others.
