I just turned 18 in september and I have a 2003 Chevrolet Impala that i got back in June that I’m still paying for and it is under my dad’s name and he doesn’t have good credit but we bought my car threw Pro Car Auto Group that goes threw some financial company that works with all credit types and this is his second car threw the same company. Well i would like to get a new car and I was wanting some opinions on how i should go about getting a new car?

Check out some of the auto sites like vehix.com, autos.com and cars.com. A lot of people and dealers sell through those sites. They also offer the VIN and you can check up on the car history.

It would probably be best to start your looking at a new car dealer as opposed to a used car dealer. The new dealer will know more about the car and the salesperson there should theoretically be able to point out some positive things to look for. Once you find a model you like, then look around town at the used car dealerships and see if you find one. You may be able to save AT LEAST another 1k from those places.

Also, ask the dealership that has the car you are interested in for a Carfax report if it’s used. This will give you a good look at the vehicle’s life.

Finally, please do the American economy a favor and buy a domestically-made car. These companies are in great shape with the bailout that President-elect Obama is trying to workout for them and they just need people’s trust and support.
